Upcoming Renovations and Improvements


It's an exciting time to be a part of Sundance Airport! Countless improvements and renovations will be taking place within the upcoming months and subsequent years. For more information and a list of planned and upcoming renovations, please see the letter from CEO Jerry Hunter.

A brief overview of some past improvements are as follows:

  • Main Terminal building with office complex and maintenance / executive aircraft storage hangars
  • Large maintenance / storage modification hangar
  • 150 "T" Hangars in 10 hangar buildings
  • Modern above-ground aircraft fuel dispensing facilities with 30,000 gallon under-ground fuel storage capacity
  • Lighted 5,000' X 100' all concrete runway and full length parallel taxi-way. All concrete main terminal ramp area, hangar taxi-ways and automobile parking
  • New concrete aircraft tie-down area, perimeter fencing and card-key main entry gate
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved instrument approach procedures for navigation during inclement weather conditions including localizer (LOC), global positioning satellite (GPS), VOR/DME and R-NAV
  • The airport lies in the Oklahoma City limits (fifteen minutes from downtown) and is easily accessible by main roads
  • The turnpike reaches within one mile of the southeastern edge of the airport
  • Wiley Post Airport and Will Rogers International Airport are the two largest municipally owned airports in Oklahoma City. Wiley Post is located within five miles of Sundance and Will Rogers is located within fifteen miles

Sundance Airpark contains approximately 275 acres of land. Currently, more than 180 acres are available for future development. This land could be developed for a vast array of uses including corporate, commercial/industrial, up-scale residential, inter-collegiate training facilities, hotel/restaurant facilities and conference/entertainment facilities.
